Syau-Cheng Lai is a painter and a pianist who lives in Ithaca, New York.
Music, history, calligraphy, and sculpture are the general influences behind Lai's work, and have led her towards developing a personal articulation of pure forms, colors, and surfaces. Her current interest is in building cartographical terrains and geometric forms out of detailed textural elements inspired by archeological artifacts.
